Has Anybody Tried "My DVR" Hard Drive? Recommend or not?

    I have had my since the initial release...plugged it in and all was perfect right from the get go. I would suggest securing the eSata port wire though with a zip tie to one of the more secure wires in the back. If you are like me and move the unit from time to time to dust etc...the connection can be disturbed very easily. I just looped it and secured it to another cable so there is slack and security.

    I love it...86 hours of HD is a beautiful thing...

    Less the one thread I saw (started today) about a failed expander drive, I haven't heard of any issues nor experienced any with mine. The extra storage is great. I do recommend though keeping the drive out of an enclosed cabinet with other components. The cables that come with the drive are fairly long and you can easily set it behind your TV or somewhere thats out of site, but still well ventilated. I'm still disapointed the highly priced retail drive only comes with a one year warranty.

    Mine is chugging away fine and I've had it since Early January.
