I have a Philips DSR7000 DTivo I needed to know if i could upgrade the hard drive to 400GB or 500GB hard drive. I thought that the Tivo only reconized up to a 160GB hard drive. If I can someone please tell me how to.

Yes, you can, as long as the DSR7000 has downloaded and installed the 6.2 update. As for how, see the Upgrades section of the forum. Be aware that using a drive larger than 250GB requires specific techniques when doing the upgrade.

You need to increase the swap, and the allocation unit size.

The allocation unit size is the issue: "-r 4" I think is the switch to use. You don't want to increase the swap past "127".
