I have a Gxcebot Series 1 that I upgraded the hard drive many moons ago.
I was thinking of removing the hard and put back in the original.

How do I reformat the upgraded hard drive to work back in a computer windows environment?

I can just put back in the original hard drive and it should boot up correct?
Assuming the old drive is still in good condition.

I have beeen out of the Tivo sceen for the last few years .

    Thanks

    Michael

Just reformat the drive as if it were blank. You might have to tell Windows to delete any existing partitions it sees.

Yes, assuming the old drive still works it should boot fine.

Ok, I will try that, I thought The Tivo drives were "locked" (or something like that) that need special software to reformat them to be used in a computer again.

I don't think DTivos were ever locked. Just the Series 1 standalones. You'll find out easily enough.
