Did a forced network connection. The download was pretty quick but then it spent almost 2 hours loading. And now movies are showing up in the Movies category.

So, they made good on "fixed by the end of the week"! Thanks TiVO!

Yes. This morning the category "Movie" problems seem to be fixed for me.

I have a wishlist that has simply this: "Category: Movies" (when selecting, I chose Movies, All Movies, All Movies). This is now finding many movies. This does appear better than a week ago.

I have another wishlist that has this: Category: Movies: Science Fiction" (I tried two different ways of creating, first Movies, All Movies, Science Fiction, then the second Movies, Science Fiction, All Science Fiction). This is still not finding any movies.

I went back to the first "Category: Movies" wishlist and find a Science Fiction movie in the list "Alien (1979)" and the listing for the categories says "Sci-Fi, Horror" so there is still some disconnect here. I either need to be able to choose "Sci-Fi" from the category selections, or anything with the category "Sci-Fi" needs to have the category mapped to "Science Fiction" to be consistent with what the wishlist editor allows you to choose.

The same is true for my "Category: Romantic Comedy" wishlist. It also is finding nothing still after the guide data change. As I look through the movies find what I could consider a Romantic Comedy "Singles (1992)" and the categories for it are "Comedy, Drama, Family, Romance." This makes it difficult to find with a wishlist since I can only choose one category and now it seems I would need to be able to search on both "Comedy" and "Romance" in categories which the wishlist editor does not allow. I'd prefer that the old category of "Romantic Comedy" just worked as it did before.

Yes, movies are now being categorized as movies, but we're not there yet when it comes to the sub-categories.

And the category is still missing some movies too so some work is still needed.

All my recorded movies are now showing up in the movie category so things are much better.

Well many of my movies are now in the movie folder but a significant number are not. "Creed" and "Cool Runnings" (although movies about boxing and the Jamaican Bob Sled Team) are still in the sports folder.

Also new, Frontier added three PAC 12 channels. I can watch them but there is no guide data. Blank. However, my TiVo HD has full guide data so I'm assuming it has yet to be "upgraded" from Tribune to Rovi.

Can't wait. After enduring the transition from Verizon to Frontier and now having to deal with the current "upgrade", cord cutting is becoming more and more appealing.

I also recorded Creed the other day. It is in both the Movies and the Sports folders on my Tivo XL4.

I have been recording Movies:Science Fiction category for years. Since the takeover fiasco it stopped recording these and shows no Science Fiction movies upcoming in the Wishlist. When is this going to be fixed.

Gracenote had "Science Fiction". Rovi has "Sci-Fi".

Unfortunately you can still only specify "Science Fiction" for wishlist searches so that is why they won't find anything.

So, while the Movies category has been fixed there is still some work to do on subcategories to match the new Rovi genre terminology.

Question about streaming movies. I had added nearly 350 streaming movies that appeared previously in the "Movies" folder. Will they be returning to the Movies folder? Or will they be seen only in Streaming Movies or Not Currently Available. The ~350 previously added now sit in "Not currently available" and newly added are only showing in "Streaming Movies"

My Rovi-updated Mini now has my 'Movies' folder populated again, and all my streaming movies (only 9) are also listed within the 'Streaming Movies' folder -- except for one 'The Caine Mutiny', which is in the 'Not Currently Available' folder.

I'm having the same issue. For a work-around until this gets resolved, you can create a wishlist with Keyword "Sci-Fi" and Category: Movies which will find a lot of Science Fiction movies since the new data seems to use "sci-fi" in the description of many Science Fiction movies. I hope that TiVo is working on this disconnect between the categories you can choose when creating a wishlist (Science Fiction) versus the categories in the gude data (Sci-Fi).

I have the same issue with the "Romantic Comedy" category but so far my work-arounds come up way short of what I'd like. To me having category of "Romance" and "Comedy" does not always add up to a "Romantic Comedy" - for me, this is a specific genre and the old guide data got it right. Creating wishlists that rely on keywords in the descriptions rather than concise categories is far from ideal.

So I'm with you on this...when will movie categories be fixed?

I have one that does not show up in movies on the left category but shows up when I go to streaming movies on the All category. It is available so it is not in the not available list.

Another was like that but it moved a few hours later.

Prior to the data change, all movies - recorded and streaming - showed up in the "Movies" folder. Streaming movies also showed in the "Streaming Movies" folder.

As mentioned, I have nearly 350 movies now sitting in "Not Currently Available" even though they ARE available on Vudu. I have one title in "Streaming Movies" and it is one that I deleted, then re-added after the data migration. It appears only in "Streaming Movies" not in the overall "Movies" folder as it did prior to the data migration.

Weird. None of the titles I entered prior to the data moving are in "Streaming Movies"

Maybe the model. They are not all exactly the same. Mine is a Bolt.

Or maybe the way they were saved or the source. I don't think the ones I mentioned were Vudu.

I had 15 on mine that were "fixed" this way as well.
