I liked this episode better than I liked the first one. I thought they had a little bit more fun with it, less serious. But then, how serious can you get with the Three Bears. I’m still not sure about the lead, but I’m beginning to really like some of the side characters. So far it’s a keeper. If it doesn’t get canceled I’m going to have to brush up on my Grimm’s fairy tales to see the connections. Out of approximately 209 it seems there are lot I’ve never heard of; like “The Hazel Branch,” and “Eve’s Various Children” to name a couple.

When the Captain told Nick he had already taken the guards off his Aunt, I could not believe Nick did not get more angry. It would be one thing if the Cap told him, "I'm going to have to take the guards off at 3pm", but to tell Nick AFTER he took the guards off? That's inexcusable. And Nick barely reacted to it.

Although Nick is/was in a pretty precarious position regarding his aunt...questions that really should have been asked weren't, and if they were than information that he really wouldn't want out there would risk getting out there (of course, he has no way of knowing that his boss already knows).

That's the kind of thing a better-written show could easily have run with, instead of (apparently) having it happen by accident. I do like the show a whole lot more after this episode, however...hopefully, it will slip into a nice groove.

I don't know, but maybe I'm a special effects snob. It's turning me off to the show.

The son's name was Barry. Or was it Beary? :D

I like the show. I have a feeling I'll like the side characters a lot more than the lead. I also feel that his wife being being a vet is not an accident. It has some interesting angles to develop as time goes by.

I'm really liking it a lot better after this episode. It feels like it's finding it's stride and may develop into something decent.

I liked how momma bear was really defensive about her bear cub and dad seemed more "normal".

I loved momma bear falling on the trap set for the humans.

Were the other two guys also of bear families? And does their being on those motorbikes equal a bear riding a bike? (as in the circus).

That Grimm's partner knew all the stuff in the guys house was pretty cool.

I did enjoy this episode and hope that things will continue to get better.

Plus the correlation with immigrants...Dad being the one who culturally assimilates ("Nobody does THAT any more!"), and Mom the one who clings to the Old Country ways.

I did an audible 'whoa' when the blutbad tore off the arm. That was cool.

Also, their last name was Rabe (anagram for BEAR).

Gilda's name was obvious (like Goldie, for Goldilocks), but I couldn't figure out why Rocky was named Rocky. He didn't look like a squirrel...

The dialog at the beginning had me thinking Gilda and Rocky were incestuous at first: "Why weren't we born rich?" "Because our parents didn't have any money." Would have been clearer to say "Because neither your parents nor mine had any money" though I guess that doesn't flow as well.

Loved the line about a "bear mitzvah"

I don't think there was a boy in the Three Bears story... so they probably just picked a good name. :)

I laughed when the first bed was a twin bed (w/ one pillow), then the second bed was a queen (two pillows). I guess we never saw the king bed.

Of course... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_the_bear ... But I would have expected the son to be named Rocky and the interloper to be named Stephan. :)

This episode was better than the pilot but Grimm himself still needs a personality transfusion.

I think that the Blutbad will be the character to watch though.

I kinda thought it was "Raeb". Same idea, just more literal.

Me too, but I put on CC to check and it used the former. Not definitive, I know.

I remember thinking during the show what fairy tale thing the show was about. Three Bears never popped up in my mind. If they mentioned the Three Bear story in the show, I wasn't paying attention.

It seems the "monsters" are putting too much resources into killing someone who's on her deathbed already, while doing nothing about a healthy, strong Grimm in the making (the protagonist).

Or did the Police boss say something about "We need him" to the blond assassin?

It was quite loosely implied during the initial invasion. They started playing on a twin bed, moved up to sex on a bigger bed. They probably filmed all three beds and also filmed more food eating, but cut it since we'd probably figure it out anyway. :)

    Wouldn't...
if there's one thing that kills this show, it's the stupid names they have for the monsters. Blutbad, Jagerbar? I get that blutbad is german for bloodbath, but they just sound stupid to me. I expect the next one to be called a YibbidyPoo.
