grandfather died and need to find password to get into settings

    I need a way to reset the password im my hd tivo my grandfather passed away and this tivo has not been used since 2014 and is the password stored on the hdd or in the tivo ram?
    This tivo was inherited and has lifetime service. and it connot connect to network since itsd on the phone system instead of ethernet.

    No password in the Tivo.
    Only in the Tivo.com account.
    Not sure what you mean.

    its in parental controls a 4 digit password

    That is only number 0-9 4 digits, can take a little while to hack.
    You might call Tivo CS for them to reset, possibly.

    they will not be able to reset it but i can try no way to get into network settings to connect it to internet due to being lock out via parental controls

    Think I heard someone call CS and got them to reset it.

    Some thing to try the code, birthday, anniversary, etc 4 digits like 0102.
    Something that would be easy to remember for him.

    just wanna know if that parental control password is stored on the tivo mermory or on the hdd if its on the hdd i would just need an image of the tdc652160 winmfs backup link would help

    I'd try a clear and delete anything first. That might reset any parental codes.

    PC will not let you into anything in the Settings menu.
