Loved everything about this episode. I laughed, clapped, giggled...it was all sorts of awesome.
I'm sad that Artie and Britney didn't get back together. I like the two of them together.
It's Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend, weekend
Gettin' down on Friday
Everybody's lookin' forward to the weekend
Is all kinds of awesomeness!
Fun fun fun fun
I liked it. Did not think it was awesome but it was very good.
I can't believe they did that Friday song.
Love the Friday song, Blaine's spastic dancing, and the cheap 3 person date. Not a big fan of the Racheal song.
They did the Friday song.
My jaw dropped in horror.
I liked the rest of the episode a lot.
But they did the Friday song.
I really like "Jar of Hearts" when performed by Christina Perri; I didn't think that Lea Michele's voice was suited for the song at all. I think that Naya Rivera's voice would have been a better fit (even if it didn't make sense in the storyline). Besides, it was a weird song to perform at a prom, even if it is how Rachel felt.
I zipped straight over "Friday." Ugh. As amusing as it was that they'd do it, it's not at all a good song, and not one I want to hear again.
Oh, yeah, and I gotta say: I kind of know how Kurt felt in tonight's episode. Not the gay thing, but the being elected to a prom/homecoming position as a joke. Kids at my school tried to do it to me, when they knew I was totally socially awkward and had absolutely no intent of going. Let me tell you: mass organized ridicule by secret ballot does suck.
Brilliant episode. So much to laugh at, so poignant and unexpectedly moving.
Emmy nom for Eric Stoltz!
I thought the episode was kind of "meh". Once again, the story didn't go anywhere.
Look, here is Quinn obsessing over prom queen and jealous of Rachel.
Look, here is Rachel pining over Finn. (BTW Rachel, being supportive Finn's relationship with Quinn does not include singing love songs to him.)
Oh, here is Jesse, let's have Finn get jealous!
I guess, never having actually listened to the Friday song before, I liked it. It was up beat and fun.
It was by no means a bad episode, but it was not one of my favorites.
I've never heard this "Friday" song before...but the lyrics seem like they could have been written by Rachel Berry.
I really enjoyed Rachel/Jesse singing "Rolling in the Deep."
My opinions of those songs are the opposite of yours. I think "Jar of Hearts" is the worst song I've heard in years. The lyrics are incredibly bad and it's gratingly maudlin. This is the first time I've heard "Friday". It's a fun song (as done on Glee - I haven't listened to the original). There's nothing wrong with bubblegum pop.
The chorus to "Friday" is just perfect for a fun, silly, sticky sweet pop song. ESPECIALLY when it's played performed ON Friday. I mean, I know on Friday I'm lookin' forward to the weekend.
I still don't know what to make of Kurt being elected "Prom Queen". It seems like it would be very hard for him to spin it in a positive way. I know he tried, but not sure it really worked too well. Was he really expecting Karofski to come out right then?
Out of curiosity, who was rumored to have been elected king and queen? I know there wsa a "leak" about it, but I managed to avoid hearing the actual details.
I think that Kurt is pushing David too hard on this. David is not ready to come out, much less in front of the whole school.
The leak was exactly Karofski & Kurt. I had heard that Ryan Murphy was going to re-film with a different King & Queen, but I don't see how he could have. It would have changed everything that happened afterwards.
I'm with Loadstar on this one. I think that "Friday" may be the stupidest song that I have ever heard, but I love "Jar of Hearts".
Moments when I clapped, or squealed, or giggled:
* When Jesse walked into the auditorium.
* When Britney took a prom picture with Artie
* When Kurt called Santana "Satan"
* When they started playing "Dancing Queen"
* When Quinn hit Rachel
Sigh. I loved GleeProm. I may watch again tonight.
I often re-watch.
Friday is a horrible song and the only version that's even remotely interesting is the "Bob Dylan" version.
I forced myself to watch the original Rebecca Black video (my first reaction was to close the browser window at the 30 second mark) and afterward was tempted to take an icepick to my brain to erase the memory of it.
Last night's Glee brought back some disturbing flashbacks and after they performed Friday, I had to pause and throw cold water on my face.
That said, the rest of the episode was fine.
(And is the only reason Puck doesn't kick Jewfro's a$$ is because he's still on probabtion.)
BTW, don't think that I didn't pick up on how they basically made all the Glee members High School juniors here.
I wanted to see Puck and Lauren get crowned king and queen.
Q needs something GOOD to happen to her. And I'm not talking being prom queen. Something more real. Give her SOME sort of interest. Something she can turn into some sort of goal.
I'm glad Kurt wore his kilt, even after they tried to talk him out of it. People know Kurt has a specific, strong fashion sense. For him to NOT do something like that kilt woud have been out of character.
I love me some Eric Stoltz. He's just so pretty.
I really hate how Kurt is pushing on the coming out thing. He knows how hard it has been for him, and he was ready to be open about it. Why would he want to keep pushing someone who obviously isn't ready? I think this makes Kurt the bully.
