The original plan was to air Terra Nova on the same night as the Idol performance finale, but when somebody looked at the episode and panicked ER, UH, "the special effects wouldn't be ready in time," they expanded Glee's (and The Chicago Code's) schedules by one week. It's also possible that the original plan was for a 90-minute Glee followed by the Raising Hope season finale.

This show to me just seems like a way to sell albums online. Writing their own songs allows the show to make a lot more money.

The other reason to do original songs: radio airplay. Logistically, releasing the Glee covers to radio gets very tricky in terms of licensing... besides, few radio stations would want to play a cover of a song they're already playing. They can -- and do -- play the Glee original songs without a problem.

It didn't get a lot of airplay, but I did hear "Loser Like Me" on a couple of area radio stations.

Heard Loser Like Me on XM/Sirius as well...

Thought the episode was ok... but felt rushed in some spots as well. I also wondered what happened to Quinn's reveal... and thought that Shue's dismissal of Broadway was awfully quick.

    Pretty accurate.

Reminds me of the old adage: When you learn to fake sincerity.....

After rewatching the episode tonight, while Quinn was talking with Santana & Brittney, she mentioned that she was going to tell Mr. Schuster that Rachel and Kurt were sneaking off. That would get them kicked off the team.

But she referenced her 'plan' last week. Unless it was a pretty non-specific 'find a way to get Rachel kicked off the team', I don't think this was it.

Is it possible that Quinn's plan happened, but it's something we just haven't learned about yet? Something we'll deal with next season?

On another topic: was it just me, or was there a huge awkward moment after Blaine said he loved Kurt? Kurt responded "I love you too" almost as if he had a gun to his head. Something else to deal with next season?

Possible, but I think it will end we will never know about. According to Brad Falckuk, the original cut of the epsiode was 20 minute too long. Sounds like it should have been a 1 1/2 hour episode instead.

I got the feeling that Kurt did not know to react to that. It was almost an automatic "I love you too". I am not sure Kurt really know what love is and he isn't sure he is really in love.

Between that and Mercedes/Sam there are some definate plot lines going in to next season.

I thought it was quite ironic that they had Racheal dreaming of being on broadway when Lea has already been there and left Broadway to do Glee. I wonder how many Glee fans even know that Lea and Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James) were the leads in Spring Awakening. At least I was lucky enough to see them twice before they left.

Was pretty funny to see Kurt and Rachael sing on the Wicked stage where Idina (Shelby Corcoran) orginated the role.

It's too bad that Spring Awakening closed... would've been a really funny tongue-in-cheek reference to have them be on that stage. :)

That was my take on it - it was their first time saying it and Kurt was just enjoying the moment. He looked more surprised/happy than surprised/sad.

It felt like this was an extra long episode they had to chop up to fit into an hour.

Like I said back in posts #19 and #21, I wouldn't be surprised if it was going to be a 90-minute (or even two-hour / two-part) episode, but when they couldn't air Terra Nova as planned on the night of the American Idol final performance show (which was moved from Wednesday to Tuesday they wanted the finale to count in the season ratings, and the season ended on Wednesday), they moved the Glee finale to that night, and its 90-minute (assuming it would have aired along with the Raising Hope season finale) timeslot was now reduced to an hour.

    Some random questions...

#1. How come they just couldn't use the set list they used in regionals?

#2. Is the entire club Juniors? (now Seniors). If so will season 4 be the college years?

#3. How bad is the football team that in season 1 they had a sophomore be the QB?
