The operation on Jorah was hard-core. Yeeeeouch!

How did Euron know where the Dorne matriarch would be?

I don't think Euron knew. I think he just got lucky.

Speaking of Euron, considering his best ships were stolen, I don't know how he managed to build those gigantic ships so quickly.

Anyone else think Arya will turn around and start heading back to Kings Landing after her meeting with Nymeria? Seems sort of a hokey way to keep her from Winterfell if that's the case. Nymeria' not going home so neither should she.

I'm not getting political so I don't want to go into details, but I found much of what Varys said to Dani to be......timely.

I think he knew. He was chasing down his "gift" for Cersei. Noty sure how, but he had to have known.
It's pretty clear an awful lot of time has passed during the past few episodes (the last couple of last season and the first couple of this), considering the thousands of miles some people traveled during them...once again, they're playing with our perception of time. But I would guess maybe as much as a year.
Poor Arya. She must be heartbroken.

But her horse must be freakin' impressed! :D My hunch is she continues to Winterfell. I think it's more important for the story for her and Sansa to meet at this point.

Things were going entirely too well for Daenerys. So of course she had to lose her Westerosi fleet, its general, the leader of half her Westerosi army, three Sand Snakes...but I guess with only a few episodes left (11, but my count), the mass killing off of characters has to begin. ;) I'll miss those Snakes. And Yara.

I wonder if the partial collapse of the intricate plan inspired by Tyrion leads Dany to take more...aggressive action?

I don't think Yara is dead. I think Euron wants to have some fun with her first. We didn't see her die.

Eurons gift to Cersei will be Ellaria and Tyene Sand for killing Myrcella.

Anyone else still hoping Theon redeems himself? I was hoping he'd at least die trying to protect his sister and not jump off the ship. I guess they just set it up for something to happen later.

Probably only you. This event doesn't materially change her calculus of the balance between killing Cersei immediately (expecting to probably die in the process), and that of seeing her bother again one last time beforehand, which brother she thinks is at Winterfell. In fact, I'd think it would strengthen the choice she has made. Unless she meets him on the road, that's where she'll go next.

I think our seeing how Nymeria ends up as the leader of a pack is just GRRM throwing us a bone before he kills off more of our beloved characters.

The fighting on the boat was a bit nutty. I thought at first one of the sand snakes got Euron in the balls, but I guess it was just some random Iron born.

I assume Theon will take out Euron, with Yara dying in the process.

I too think Yara is still alive, although she holds no value to Cersi, only for Dany. So maybe Reek's setback may bring him back, but I doubt it.

Sad to see Nymeria leave. Apparently, Arya saying "that's not you" is a callback from S1 when Ned told Arya that one day she'll be married with kids and Arya responded "that's not me".

I thought that was her Theon saw hanging from the bow of one of the ships...

The fight scene on the boat was very confusing. Several times I thought Euron was killed.

Agree with everyone on the fight scenes. Fight scenes in the dark tick me off. How the hell do the fighters know who they are fighting?

And a whole fleet of monster ships sneaks up on another fleet with nobody noticing?

The ravens seem to have light speed technology.

The Sand Snakes were a big disappointment.

Yara needs to fire her lookouts. Oh, never mind.

I ffwd'd through most of Sam's operation on Jorah.

Seemed kind of late for Dany to have the loyalty conversation with Varys.

I chuckled a bit when Theon abandoned ship. Even if that was Yara's body hanging from the ship, that can't be his end story. I expect some redemption for him in the remaining episodes.

As a non book reader, the direwolves don't mean much to me.

I thought I heard Arya say "It's not you" when Nymeria turned and left. I suppose that could mean it's not the wolf's fault it doesn't feel a sense of loyalty to Arya any longer after she forced it to leave, but it sounded as though she was saying the wolf isn't Nymeria. Was anyone else confused by that remark or did I hear it wrong?

No, there were two women there (one hanging, and one speared); both of the dead Sand Snakes.

I always wonder how people know which man is friend or foe in a battle like this. Not only is it dark, but everyone is wearing the same thing!

The Sand Snake that survived is the one that seduced and spared Bron. I wonder if he'll return the favor. Glad she survived. She and Messandei have the best breasts I have ever seen in my life (but my research will continue!) :D

I don't see why you would expect that. In any other regular show, I'd agree with you. But I think in GoT, Theon will stay broken. I was actually surprised he fought at all in this battle.

I thought she meant "you've changed so much that I don't recognize you"; which is pretty poignant since that is probably exactly what Nymeria would be thinking as well. They simply almost didn't recognize each other because of the lives they led apart from each other.

My thoughts about the "gift" is that it was taking out Dany's navy. Without it, invading King's Landing will be a lot harder. Plus he wanted revenge on his niece and nephew anyway so it was a win win for him. Getting the Dorne Queen was a bonus.

It's not just the time required, but also the resources required.

That's not much of a gift, in the sense he was talking about it to Cersei (physically bringing something to her). I think he meant Queen Sandy, or at least some major enemy of Cersei's and Sandy was the one who presented herself.

The love scene between Melisandre and is that guy's name Grey Worm? Why was he so hesitant about undressing? Is there a physical deformity that I don't remember hearing about? Or was it just a more general him saying they shouldn't have sex? It seemed odd.
