Will Smith announces 'Fresh Prince' reboot coming to Peacock - CNN

A reboot/re-imagining of the classic, Will Smith show.. This time, as an hour long drama. Will be titled "Bel-Air".

I thought the guy did a good job on the 'trailer'. Not sure how it will work as a full series, but I'd be interested in checking it out.

As a side note, I am thinking of re-imagining "Mike And Molly" as a comedy. ;)

Yep- that trailer was pretty incredible. Time will tell if it holds up as a full series

It really is a pretty good idea to make a serious version of a story a kid, born and raised in west Philadelphia, who ran into some trouble shooting some hoops and was sent to live with is Aunt and Uncle in Bel-Air. I think it really could work well .

I agree, and I like the premise… It’s not just a potentially funny scenario that a guy from the “hood” lives with his rich parents… I think, if done well, the emotional and class conflict caused by the economic imbalance could be interesting…

Yup.. I think what may really help take the humor out of it is that this Will isn't getting into just a little trouble in the neighborhood. He's got bigger issues than being bullied and picked on a bit
