It used to be that on the fourth push of the fast forward button, my Tivo would go back to normal play. Now, it continues to fast forward.

Is there a way I can get the "fourth push" to cause the Tivo to play?

    Thanks, ANdy

I dunno. Try a reboot. Sometimes that fixes flaky behavior.

What unit do you have, premiere? Seems this may be the new normal behavior. Check out the forum.

I wrote to customer support and they said they removed this feature and have no plans to bring it back.

This is part of 14.9. You get used to it after a while.

I'm not so sure it was a feature to be removed so much as just a different way to do things.

my 2 cents is that it always annoys me when I hit ff too many times and it cycled back to play. So I would prefer the new way. Sadly being on S3 hardware I'll never see the update...

It always annoys me now more due to the bong.

My guess is it might have been presenting issues either in VOD, the Preview, or for streaming. Otherwise I don't see the point of the change since it didn't affect anything.

No, it's a feature being removed. 'Just one step closer to the utterly detestable Cisco / Scientific Atlanta 8300HD.

I couldn't disagree more. The circular high speed selection feature is great. I'm very happy I'm on an S3 platform. 'Just one more good reason not to switch to a Premier, if you ask me.

Thanks for the replies. I was afraid of this. That's the problem with software developers that don't poll their users before deprecating features!

They really could have made it configurable.

This would be welcome for me. Anytime I use FF, it seems that I push the button too many times.

It's all moot anyways since I prefer using the undocumented 30 second skip to get past commercials.

I havn't heard the bong in many years. Since getting my HDTiVos in 2004. SInce when playing DD content you don't hear the TiVo sounds effects and HD content uses DD.
And also on FiOS all channels use DD for the audio.

I like the new behavior better, but for those who do not maybe it will return as one of those backdoor codes.

I HATE the old way when it looped and much prefer ignoring "extra" clicks. Used to annoy me to no end.

But I would agree with your suggestion that they should make a backdoor for the people that miss the old way.
