That was a lame excuse for a focus group. Should have been real viewers who would have given real feedback. That being said, I'm not surprised Jeff won. Even his meal was more appealing.

They got it right for the first time in the last 4 seasons IMO.

I would not be at all surprised to see her get her own show, if not on Food on the Cooking Network.

    I will join that parade.

I thought Jeff fairly won the finale and was consistently strong through most of the show once the beginning jitters settled. I think Suzie was the most improved and toward the end was a strong rival. I felt Vic was out classed and the two stage elimination pretty much assured he was not going to make it.

As far as watching The Sandwich King, we generally catch a show or two after a few months to see how they are coming along. It will take a while before they develop the chops to really be a FNS but you have to begin somewhere.

    Congratulations Jeff you earned it.

Although I wouldn't put it past them to bring her back to stir up some controversy somewhere.

There have been enough seasons of FNS that they could put together an all-star season of past contestants. I'm guessing Penny would be back for that. ;)

Am I the only one who thinks that Jeff looks like (comedian) Jimmy Fallon?

Watched the reunion show last night. Was really surprised at Mary Beth's attitude towards Jeff. I can understand not wanting the hug at that moment - but you could tell she really has a dislike for him beyond that.

Glad Jeff won. I will watch at least the first show. We don't watch a lot of cooking shows anyway - but I'll give it a shot.

I never really sensed any sort of rift between Mary Beth and Jeff during the season. I was a bit surprised when they brought it up during the reunion show. I too can understand not wanted a hug, but her disklike seemed to extend beyond that. I'm guessing it was her problem. Jeff seems like a likable, laid-back kind of guy that could get along with anyone.

You know, they don't really need a reality tv show to find the next FN star...

Saw a commercial last night for The Pioneer Woman's new show.

Me too. I set up a season pass. I've seen and tried a few of her recipes. They tend to be fairly simple and good. I'd call them quality home cooking. I know some people have posted and referenced her recipes in the Dinner thread.

FNS and Next Iron Chef are both excuses to have shows. I like 'em both. I think FNS does increase the chances of success for the new show, as the winner has already had lots of advertising just being on FNS.

We cook Pioneer Woman recipes all the time, had no idea about the show. Will look for it.

Did anyone else that watched the reunion first, notice they asked Mary Beth if she would watch Jeff's show but they didn't ask about the other top 3? I don't know if that was just to get her reaction or if it was a slip that Jeff was the winner.

During the segment about Jeff's comedy antics, there was also a scene from the finale when he pretended to slip and fall into the refrigerator.

I saw that - and they said it was an imitation of Alicia I believe...

Who knows with the screwy editing they do.

I thought his Bob Tuschman impersonation was hilarious!

I really didn't think there was that much drama, as I thought it was pretty clear that Jeff was going to win. It was obvious to me that Vic was going home first (of the final three), and that Jeff was the clear favorite between him an Susie. I'll set a recording to watch his show, but I have a feeling that he'll ultimately end up with a different type of show (a la Guy Fieri) in addition to his original 'cooking' show.

Yes, absolutely. I was surprised by this as well. To me, Mary Beth came off very bad in the reunion show, and I didn't have that opinion of her before.
