The reunion won't be as interesting, because everyone will be holding back on giving away who the winner is. But just in case they screwed up the programming schedule (doubtful, but anything's possible), I'm going to watch the finale first.

Yeah, kind of weird! I'm set with the reunion, airing at 8pm, and the finale, airing at 9pm and I didn't think beyond that. Think I'll do the same & watch the finale first.

I've never seen a competition show (that I remember anyway) that had a reunion before the season ended.

Based on the descriptions, they are going to announce the winner during the reunion show. That makes no sense to air it before the final competition.

Top Chef did it at least once, with the final three present. They seemed to do a pretty good job not letting on as to who won.

Glad Jeff one...he seems to have a bigger personality/camera presence that the other lady.

She'll get her own show at some point no doubt, but he seems more outgoing and "entertaining" for a wider audience.

Plus, I think they just don't have a sandwich-oriented show on the Food Network ... while Suzie's show would have been just like a dozen others they already air.

That's what my wife said as they were getting close to the announcement.

Her topic of food is sort of a cliche nowadays.

Once Vic was eliminated I was sure they were going to give it to Suzie. They had Aarti last year for the Indian flavor and then they would have Suzie for the Mexican. Jeff is good, but seemed like another Guy (or Adam) who is better suited for a food (but non-cooking) show. He's got a great tagline though and yeah, there aren't any sandwich-specific cooking shows.

Oddly, during the finale ep, I found myself rooting for Suzie (for the first time, I might add). Either one will do well and I imagine that she will be offered something anyway.

I agree about the 'sandwich show' deal, plus I got a strong vibe, going in to the episode, that they really wanted a guy this time around. NOT saying he didn't deserve to win, but I think those were two big factors.

I like Jeff very much. The whole 'all sandwiches all the time' thing might not resonate with me but he has lots of great ideas and he is pleasant to watch as long as he keeps it reined in a bit.

Interesting, but not surprising, how Penny was trying to get digs in on Suzie with her critique. I don't think her criticisms were founded. She was clearly wanting her to lose and, IMO, that's all she cared about at that point. She can't just be a nice person for 5 minutes...always having to act jealous that she didn't excel.

I waited and watched the reunion show after watching the finale. Too much attention given to Penny, IMO. Act like an ass and everybody celebrates you? whatever...

One thing that occurred to me last night... Some people in the US have an "anti-immigrant" sentiment right now. Whether that sentiment is right or wrong, it might play into the decision making process for a network executive.

This was the first NFNS that I've seen this season and I noticed something with that final show... the finalists all seemed to be really friendly towards each other.

I don't necessarily remember that in previous seasons

Out of the top three, Jeff clearly had the best performance in the 3-way comp, and in the 2-way comp. He just seems the most relaxed and natural in front of the camera. On the other hand, I would definitely have watched Suzie's show, probably watched Vic's, and probably will not watch Jeff's. That's based on the type of food they are cooking. I'll give Jeff's show a chance if the episode description shows he is cooking something I'm interested in but I doubt I'll watched a majority of the episodes.

Turns out the reunion show didn't reveal the winner. The guide data for it is misleading, but I laughed quite a bit while watching it (after watching the finale).

[edit] I've been cheering for Susie since the beginning and was hoping she'd win.

    Almost in...
I'm sad Susie didn't win. I would of loved to watch her show and attempt to make her dishes. Her stories behind them really made you feel a part of her family and her food looked oh so good. Probably helps that Mexican is one of my favorite cuisines and I'd love to know how to make some authentic stuff myself. And it didn't hurt that she is cute too!

I like Jeff, I'll probably watch his show if it's on to see what twist he is doing but I probably won't go out of my way for it.

As nice of a guy that Vic is, I just think he would be too distracting to watch on tv.
