B storyline, with the ice smuggler, seemed more relevant than the A storyline to me. It establishes a likely long-standing conflict over water and gives us a small inkling of what the political and social structure of mongo is.

Ok, I'll admit, as someone that really has absolutely no knowledge of the whole Flash Gordon background, I've found the show to be somewhat watchable. It's certainly not great, but I haven't found it as bad as some people here have. I've vaguely interested enough to keep watching at this point, but it's certainly nothing I'd buy on dvd.

The moment B storyline appeared, I just knew it is going to lead straight to a rebellion against Ming staged by ice smuggler's people. Predictable as tomorrow's sunrise.

I'm going to give a few more eps. It reminds me of bad version of Buck Rogers. Which is a shame as both Flash and Buck have great potential if done right.

I thought the B story with the Ice Smuggler was the better half. I think Ming killing him off while sparing the daughter was very good and showed he can be merciless.

If they handle this like the BSG reboot, and get away from the campiness, then it will be good.

The best part of this show are the trailers. At least the ones with Queen in the background.

I like the show, the nude shot at the end wasn't too bad either.

The B story added to Aura's awakening to the kind of man her father really is. Dale confronted her with an idea she probably rarely heard expressed. And this episode illustrated that to her further. If Aura is to become an ally of Flash one day, she needs this kind of background story, otherwise it appears she defies her father and sides with Flash just because she likes the way he looks.
