If you have FIOS TV and actually have an MCARD, can you post your information here? Don't post if you've been "told" you'll get an MCARD, only post if you actually have one with FIOS.

Make sure to post your location.

My FIOS install is on Thursday, so we'll see what they bring. When I called to order it, they didn't even know what a M-Card was so we'll see what they show up with.

You're poll is missing an option. I have 1 S-Card.

So does this mean FIOS doesn't have MCARD's anywhere? I really want to cut my CC costs in half...

You're assuming the M card is the same price as a single S card. I would think the M card would cost you twice as much since it's newer technology and does the work of two S cards. You can bet Verizon or any other provider will probably charge you more if they can get away with it. There have been some other reports of M cards in the wild but I haven't seen any prices posted yet.

Nonsense. The MCARD is a replacement for the SCARD. It's one card, and the cable providers are under the same mandate. Since there is no option for the consumer to use an SCARD (once MCARDS are available), they can't.

    A logical assumption.

I have both SCards and MCards on my account.
Comcast charges me the same "Tivo" rate - $1.50.

I am in Bergen County. I had two S cards installed last week--actually 4, two per Tivo. The installer had not even heard of M cards. :(

Verizon plans on charging me $2.99/card--I think. I plan to complain about being double charged.

Same story here. My FIOS installer several weeks ago hadn't heard of M-cards either. In fact, he didn't know how to tell. I told him it would have some type of prominent "M" on the card.

Here's the kicker. If any of us ever suspect that Verizon has M-cards in our area, we're probably going to have to pay for a truck roll to replace the S-cards with M-cards.
