In the last few weeks I've noticed on my TIVO Roamio some weird, movement streaking happening. Basically like lines along the edges of person showing if they move quickly. It's not constant, but it's bothersome. I suppose it could be the Comcast signal, but I'm not sure. I've got an older Roamio with a cable card via Comcast setup, original hard drive, with no changes to it. Ideas on this?

comcast market (city, state, or zip), along with a program name, channel, and time, might help.

I'm in the Detroit Metro area. Mainly I've seen this happening on the CW in the evenings with their comic book type shows. Just people moving across a room will do it. I need to check other networks more, but I was just wondering if this is any kind of known issue with the TIVO Roamio's out there.

yes, it would be good to compare to other locals, and cable only channels, too. i haven't come across it in the forums, but the next time you see it, note the program, day, and time - since it's cw, it may be a local issue.

Its a question of 1080i Vs. 1080p. The 'i' is for interlaced and 'p' is for progressive. Progressive does not handle fast action images very well.

i (and a few others) would suggest that interlaced video is more prone to artifacts (espn uses 720p), and since broadcasters don't transmit in 1080p, i'd recommend switching the tivo video settings to 720p to troubleshoot.

But, I think its the other way around as I use 1080p all the time and when watching action (such as a football game) the person appears streaked. And again, that was a long while ago since I saw any of that.

If you load the Play List in to KMTTG, you can see the Video Bitrate of each show.
