It looks like it might NOT include the 'Peace Keeper Wars'. If not, then it's technically not "complete".
I believe the rights to Peacekeeper Wars are held by another company, so it will just be the 4 seasons. Of course, I just completed my collection of the Starburst sets before the complete set was announced.
I still have the original box sets. Thankfully, I got them all at steep discounts, because retail prices for those things were EXPENSIVE.
I am torn... I wouldn't mind getting these new sets for the new extra material, but I can't see doing so when I already have the very nice original box sets.
I was only ever able to get one season at even a moderately absurd price. The new set will be much, much less than I would have paid for the old sets of the remaining three seasons. So...yay!
I have them all, so I'll wait for blu-ray. I wonder why they didn't go blu.
It's possible the resolution on the FX shots weren't up to HD standards. It was typical up until recently to do the FX at the lowest possible resolution.
Sweet! And yeah, the ADV sets were freakin' ridiculous.
No word on the cost for these?
Retail $150, Amazon currently $105.
This was released today.
BestBuy.com is selling it for $69.99, and the best part is that the Best Buy version includes the Peacekeeper Wars miniseries. Might want to hurry, though - they only made 5000 of the Best Buy sets.
Most stores around me are sold out - I finally found the last one on the shelf at a store about 20 minutes away. (Best Buy B&M is selling it for $99.95, but will price match to BestBuy.com. The SKUs are the same.)
Since the Best Buy site makes no reference to including the Peackeeper Wars in this set, is there any other reference you can cite that states this is true.
The set sitting in my hands right now?
Other than that, here's the original announcement about the Best Buy version:
FWIW, the "Peacekeeper Wars" discs included with the Best Buy set are identical in every way to the original Lions Gate Home Entertainment set... so if you already have those, the biggest advantage to the Best Buy set is just having a space in the case for the discs.
I checked bestbuy.com and no stores around here had it so I bought it online instead. Shipping was only $2.50, not bad!
VERY disappointed it's not being released as a BD.
Looks like the one near me has it. Have to go pick it up at lunch so I don't forget.
These in 16:9 or 4:3?
The first 3 seasons were framed and broadcast as 4:3; fourth season was in 16:9. I'll check shortly whether that matches what the DVDs have.
Edit: yes, DVDs match.
Just picked these up locally (with price-match). I already had Season 1 and the Peacekeeper War, but this set is much cheaper than tracking down Seasons 2-4.
