The good news is that by disconnecting your second drive, you can now have the TiVo effectively "divorce" the drives, but you'll lose the content. The bad news is that it won't help if your A drive is the bad drive.

Same problem S2 with second drive as slave. I don't recall installing any power delay units. So what's the solution - just remove the extra drive and you can't have extra drives any more?

It's not that - it's that the TiVo isn't seeing your extra drive now for some reason.

Have you opened it to see if there's some sort of power delay? That's the first step.

Thanks - no I will have to open it up in the morning. This was added through a Weaknees kit some years ago. Is it likely that a "power delay device" was part of the kit?

I know when I bought my Weaknees twinbreeze kit they highly recommended a power delay for the 2nd HD, that was about 4 years ago.

Usually, it's included in the bracket package.

Sure enough - I pulled the power delay between the power supply and the 2nd drive and powered the 2nd drive directly. All is well. Thanks community!

If you connect it to the master drive, you should be fine.

I had the same issue. I had the gadget from Weaknees on my slave drive, so I swapped it around .. put the slave on straight juice, and put the master on the delay. Thing booted up great. Hooray!

Hmmmm...clever. My instincts were much more violent and primitive. I just got out the nippers and electrical tape.....
