Great episode last night, an homage to a similar episode of GOOD TIMES.
Why did my episode out of NY, UPN 9, WWOR I believe, have no audio! I went to put it on and nothing came through! Pissed!
I love this show. I used to watch Good Times, but I don't know how many of the plots I remember. I need to watch this episode and see if I recognize it.
My Direct TV recording of WWOR was fine. Maybe it's a cable issue. Were other channels OK?
The whole episode seemed... forced. The writing was off, the pacing was off, and the acting was off. Neither the drama nor the comedy really worked. As a result, what could have been a cathartic half hour of TV fell relatively flat.
I thought it was the weakest episode yet. But hey, Everybody Hates Chris such a a solid show that even the weak episodes are good.
I thought it seemed forced too.. It was depressing to see Raj from What's Happenin' and JJ from Good Times both look so awful. It distracted me from most of the episode.
I didn't find this episode disappointing at all. I loved the aunts and uncle as well as Loretta Divine as the Grandmother. I thought it was great having JJ, Raj, and Huggy Bear all in one episode. As always, the mother was amazing.
It was definitely off, but it was still a lot of fun. Was great when Chris sat down next to his mom on the steps.
This show always has the right balance of comedy and heart.
PJ, in your avatar you kind of look like Chris's friend from the show.
i said the same thing in another thread. he really does! but he will never dress up as a vulcan on halloween.
Sadly, his friend (Vulcan ears or not) is 100 times cooler than I ever was...
That kid somehow reminds me of John Lennon.
Or Scott Baio.
Or some only combination of the two.
