Just ordered my Premiere last night and have a couple questions for those that actually have a Premiere and have installed a ESATA drive.

Is the WD 1TB ESATA MY DVR drive the only external drive that will work?
Do the internal and external combine to give you 1.320TB storage?
How many hours of HD storage does this give?

    30 Sec Scan questions:
What is the scan speed for this scan skip? I was told is was 10x (3 secs for 30 sec) by a TIVO rep but though I saw is was 30x (1 sec for 30 sec)? I sure hope its 30x!

Using the old code (S_P_S_30_S) the 30 sec skip will be the same as it was in the Series 3, so not to be concerned if you don't like the one TiVo put in.
If you have an approved 1Tb drive you will have 1.32 of storage, should be well over 200 hours as reported by TiVo. (The TiVo-HD reports 198 hours with an added 1Tb drive)

Thanks! If I decided to stay w/ the 30 Sec Scan, I was curious if it's a 10x or 30x scan speed?

Only used it once, took about 1 sec to go 30 sec so i guess it was 30X, I did not like it so i put in the old one, but after I set the unit up for real use I will try both and see witch one i like the best, as you do have that option.

I actually like the 30 second scan. It takes slightly longer but overall I do surprisingly like it better.

I don't like it, but now that I have the old style how do I go back to the scan?

Disable 30 second skip by re-entering SPS30S, then navigate to Messages & Settings > Settings > Remote, CableCARD, & Devices > Remote Control Setup > Part 4, and confirm that ADVANCE scans forward 30 seconds.

You shouldn't have to disable SPS30S. Remote, CableCARD, & Devices > Remote Control Setup > Part 4 should do that automatically.

Ah... Nice to know! I made an incorrect assumption. :(
