I keep getting a popup that says that thefutoncritic has malware. makes the page pretty difficult to navigate. When I hit th button for report, it says there are 0 pages with malware. Is that actually a fake message that gives me malware?

Are you running Adblock on your browser? It sounds like an "ad" that looks like a malware warning to scare you into buying their software.

    It's back & fixed!

BTW, your subject title says epguides, but your OP says futoncritic. Are they related? (I use both at times)

A lot of malware pretends to be legitimate security warnings, and offers to "scan or fix" your PC, but instead you're letting the malware in. I didn't see the malware warning, so I can't say for sure what it was.

If you use Chrome or Firefox go here.
    https://adblockplus.org/en/

If you use Internet Explorer 9, supposedly you can add ad blocking by going here.

I suggest using adding the following lists:
    • Fanboy - Adblock Tracking Protection List - Blocks ads
    • Fanboy - Tracking Protection List - Prevents sites from tracking your browsing habits.
