Can you describe the upcoming changes to the Home screen? I've been on Hydra since November 2017.

TiVo Ted posted some pics of upcoming changes to Hydra, if you search his posts you can see them.

Curious, why not just add VOX support to Gen3 and release Gen4 UI once useability and VOX support were ready sometime in 2018? I assume it’s because of cable operators but what cable company would roll out the current Hydra?

Pretty. And I appreciate the box's trying to read my mind as to what I want to watch and providing big graphics of the guesses.

Having said that, wouldn't it just be more efficient for the box to show me a list of what I currently have (ok, with some guessing graphics on the side, for eye candy) and then simply have me choose?

    ;)

Let the user decide what the user wants to watch? What kind of madness are you talking about?

This. Two horizontal strips, no visible shortcut numbers, and an almost cartoonishly large prediction bar.

With or without voice on gen3, I would've also preferred they waited to get Hydra right first. As did an obscenely large bulk of previewers from what I understand. But that's Tivo for you.

There are some cableco's planning to use Hydra soon, if not already. Unfortunately. I feel extra bad for Vodafone Ono customers in Spain who were using it since last March.

Man. That looks like a bad Kodi add-on. SMH

I can see people not liking this. I didn't like it on first glance either. I'll withhold judgement until I use it.

Wasn't that screenshot a look at the move away from hardware to software? Something the Hydra software can be leveraged to small set-top, mobile phone, PC usage, etc - that the previous gen of UI could not be?

Is TiVo eventually going to force a Hydra or Mira or whatever interface update at some point? I just watched the Hydra video on the TiVo and have such a strong aversion to that interface (and interfaces like it) that I really hope that doesn't happen.

My computer has been attached to my main TV for years, so I have no need for TiVo to do anything but record cable TV for me. All of that other stuff, like YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, Prime, and the rest, I access on the computer portion of the TV, no need for TiVo to do it. I'm not resistant to change in general, but Hydra would be several steps backwards for my setup.

We know what you know. They haven't explicitly said that Hydra will be optional forever, but apparently will be for the foreseeable at least.

That's the Mini guide. An improvement over the Hydra version as that one missing the channel listing on the left. Closest thing to the old live guide that I've seen. Full guide is the same as Hydra.

(Sorry for the late reply, been on the road)
