More discussion: Urgent Pad Recording Alerts (EAST)

 

I'm in the east and my TiVo history shows yesterday's ep was a re-run (S01E02 "While You Were Sleeping" at 12:05 am(!)), so hopefully we won't have any problems when the new episode finally airs.

Update: Whoops, just realized that was a syndicated episode on a different channel. History doesn't show any Elementary episodes on CBS yesterday.

 

I know tivo has coped with similar situations in the past, the premiere of the recent season of 'The Last Ship," I believe. I'm not sure how, but the TiVo recorded the same episode twice, when the premiere was bumped and reruns were aired in its place, instead, with the show details still reflecting the premiere.

p.s. As of a few hours ago my DVR wasn't showing an Elementary for the coming Sunday.

 

Screener says next new program is S5 E20 on 4/23 at 10pm. My guide stops at 2pm.

According to CBS, they will be airing Elementary: High Heat next Sunday, 4-16, 10-11pm Eastern/Pacific, in place of an originally scheduled NCIS-LA.

 

TVGuide still showing NCISLA.

Ah, Screener (FKA Zap2it) uses the Gracenote/TMS data. I was just citing TVGuide as it's supposed to be based on the Rovi data, right(?), so I figure there's ZERO chance an Elementary update for 4/16 will make it to my TiVos if the change isn't reflected in the TVGuide listings. Once the update is visible in TVGuide, then I can start checking my TiVos or force service connection, if impatient.

 

Patience. Even TitanTV hasn't received the update. We have a few days.

 

Update won't help right ? TiVo thinks it has already been recorded.

 

In recent years (before Rovi), they usually fixed it so it would record "again." We'll see if Rovi has the same capability...

 

I'm seeing High Heat in my To Do list for Sunday.

 

That's the episode from last week that was cancelled. Looking good.

3pm update to one Roamio has the update for Sunday also.

 

Note that golf is also being aired this Sunday, so it's not a bad idea to pad any shows that come in afterwards.

 

I'm perplexed. My one Roamio has the 4/16 showing the new episode. But if I compare the guide's description to the Info key's description they don't match. It seems E19 has been mixed with E20.

Yes, padding would be a good idea.

 

I see High Heat on my To Do list for this Sunday. But I updated my 1P to record both New and Repeats as a belts and suspenders thing to make sure it does record.

 

That won't work if the repeat is within 30 days of an original recording. It's designed to work on older repeats.

If you want them all, you would select "Everything".

As Rob said above, in the past TiVo would actually set some flag to make the episode record. I suggest we wait a few days, let it show up in the guide, and see what happens.
