I have DirectTV with Tivo and I live on the East Coast. Sometimes I miss a program because I am working late. Is there any way to catch it on a west coast cannel three hours later?

    Thanks,
    Tom

Um, isn't that the whole point of Tivo? Setup a season pass for the shows you want to watch, and watch them when you get home.

    Try looking here:

If the channel is listed as "East" and "West" (for example, Disney on 290 and 291), then you can (assuming the one you missed was on the East channel).

The one thing I am not sure about is if you are talking about network channels (e.g. NBC) and you don't get them through a local channel package (and let me guess, this is what you want to know).

Yes, I was talking about the networks NBC, CBS, ABC...

I don't Tivo everything because most of the time I expect to be home or I might change my mind about a show.

You'll like your TiVo best when you just start recording everything and don't watch LiveTV anymore, in my opinion. If you like a show, set the Season Pass and be done with it.

If you change your mind, the clear button will delete it. Set some season passes and you can stop worrying about how accurate your expectations of being home are.

Too bad he doesn't have a standalone - he could just schedule a recording online via TCO if he's going to be late.

Then you have to figure a way to get those networks west coast feed.

Check the DirecTV website to see if you might be eligible for the Distant Network Stations (DNS).
