    Tinley...
For at least WBBM-DT (Chicago NBC), the Dolby Digital Signal has no center channel... thus no voices.

This is for both the OTA and the MPEG-4 feed (HR10-250 and H20)

The NY feed seems to be okay, so it probably is just a local thing.
Figures.. (one down side of DVRing everything... you don't know there is a problem until it is over)

Wow, finally NBC messes something up that DOESN'T affect NYC OTA. ;)

I really don't know what their problem is but they seem to be screwing up comparatively a lot these last couple months.

Tell me about it... It was something local, as L&O also followed suit... no center channel.

Glad I double record L&O on the SD TiVo (to account for when Alias is on)

I've been having the same problem w/ the Late Night shows on NBC for the past week. They're coming in through the Sat though from NY MPEG2, not OTA.

I'm in Chicago, but getting the MPEG 2 NY NBC HD feed. Everything else that I have watched on that channel has been fine, except for the occasional SD broadcast or the 1/2 second video flicker/blackouts.

Not exactly on-topic with this post, but I have a queston about E-Ring and don't see a thread on this week's episode. Did anyone else get the idea this show may be cancelled? I won't post any spoilers, but the end of the episode implied some big changes for characters and it's not on the schedule for next week. I know this show is not perfect, but we enjoy it, so I'd hate to see it go. Anyone got any ideas or know any news?

Well... Most of the NBC shows are preparing for the Olympic brake...

And we are getting close to the time where shows prepare characters to not make it back over the Summer "brakes" nearlly ALL shows do this, E-Ring may just be starting a bit early.

this was picked up for a full 22 episodes quite awhile back. haven't ready anywhere that it's going to be cancelled before.

also, remember the olympics are on nbc from feb 10 - 26.
