Does the Tivo box still work to connect to apps if service canceled?

I turned off cable a few months ago and switched to YouTube TV. My Tivo service expires in July and I plan to cancel it. Will the Tivo box still work to connect to Netflix, etc? Or does it just become a brick?

I've had a Tivo since 2003 and will miss it. But Spectrum keeps raising costs so much I finally bailed.

No. It will be a brick.

Most of us would just get Lifetime/All-in service. It would be a good investment.

Depending on the Tivo model: 6 tuner Vs. 4 tuner for Roamio and Bolt. 6 tuner is Cable only, but 4 tuner is either cable or OTA.

You can still watch any shows that were recorded before the service is cancelled.

This. Plus you can go into your deleted shows and recover them all since nothing new is going to record. I would also disconnect any internet to the box before canceling.

Call Tivo CS when your Tivo service is about to lapse and tell them you are tired of paying for service but want to keep it. (can't afford it) You might get a discounted lifetime for $99 or $199.
