I'm not sure I'll be watching if that annoying woman is his new companion. I barely made it through the Christmas special with her...

Well, keep in mind that during that episode, they emphasized the "bridezilla" aspect... that won't be a factor at this point. She's still going to be a more formidable companion than either Rose or Martha, but that should be an interesting change.

I know the Brits don't always go for eye candy but there's a limit to how ugly an actress can be...

I don't find her ugly, not a screaming hot babe, but not even close to ugly.

Plus, she's a bit better looking than Eve Myles (Gwen on "Torchwood")... not that appearance has anything to do with acting ability.

I haven't seen Doctor Who since SciFi went HD. I am eager to see the true quality of it. SciFi in SD sucked major balls.

 

The reruns have been letterboxed 4X3, but that's true even for reruns of 16X9 episodes of Stargate and Eureka... SciFi has a hard time showing HD reruns in HD.
