    Hi folks,

My Dad's three DirecTiVos started warning him to make his daily call starting May 1. His program information still goes out 10 days. I'm guessing this is fine. Is everyone experiencing this?

    Thanks!

I've still got a few HR10-250s out there in my support-orbit and I'd be hearing if all were not well.

    Set up fakecall if needed.

I've had no problems getting the programming/scheduling loaded through the satellite connection. Kind of glad I don't have to rig up phone calling any more.

These are standard def DirecTiVos. ATT support (phone and truck roll) won’t touch them. They’ve been pressuring my 86yo dad to upgrade to their latest HD gear, but he only has line of sight to the main grouping of satellites. We’ll see what the future brings.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Then he should be able to get HD. Directv's main satellite is 101W. They did use 119W but that isnt used much anymore (some local markets were on 119 but those have since been moved to the HD satellites
HD is on 99W & 103W which border the SD satellite.

True, but he will also need a new dish (the larger ones that pick up all 3 satellites), and a new switch. HD is on Ka, which suffers from rain fade more than Ku (which is used for SD). Probably not worth it if he’s happy.

I'm aware of how Directv works. (had them for many years)
The fact the OP's dad has SD Tivo's upgrading may not be what he wants
