Did I lose the need for tuning adapters in the switch from TWC to Spectrum?

Mine waits a lot longer that 3 minutes but it's still irritating and just started a month or two ago. The most likely cause would seem to be the cable system trying to crowd in too many SDV channels -- but it also seems conceivable this could be the result of a recent TiVo software mod.

Is that WMC-TV in Memphis? I wonder how mere mortals can divine which of their channels are via SDV? Probably no way. :( I wonder if the TWC CC Hotline crew has access to that information. It is the only capable group I've found in the TWC organization.

Just this morning I talked to a friend who went down the to TWC office to drop his landline in order to save some money. Turns out that doing that was going to RAISE his monthly charge!

Yup, it's sort of a funky time right now. It seems any change to service moves you from TWC pricing to Spectrum pricing, which is often more expensive.

Unplug the power cable to the tuning adapter; channels you can see with the TA and can not see without the TA are SDV channels. Way too tedious to check every channel, but easy to check a few channels. Every once in a while I check my Favorites list just to see what's going on.

In my area Spectrum used to just have a few channels that nobody would want to watch on SDV, but now they have moved almost all the premium channels to SDV.

It looks like I have lost one of the few channels I watch regularly on Spectrum in NYC. I regularly watch Tennis Channel as one of the channels over my Roamio and cable card, but it became "unavailable" in the middle of the day yesterday and is still unavailable. I got rid of my Tuning Adapter years ago since I didn't need it for any channels I watched and I was tired of it overheating and going down in the middle of the night. I checked the cable signal strength for channel 406 (Tennis Channel) and there is nothing. However, I can still watch Tennis Channel over the Spectrum App on my Roku. It seems likely they have made it an SDV channel, which is annoying because I pay extra for the Sports Package. I would try to confirm this on the phone, but Spectrum's phone service has been out since yesterday - I call the number and only get a "prize offering"!
At least Youtube TV has come to Roku, I can record Tennis Channel there. I don't know what I will do about my TWC/Spectrum sub though, I am sure they will raise my rates for any change I make.
