I'm off the Trek track here... I do this all the time, start watching an episode of something then go find it on Netflix or whatever streaming service I have has it. And it inevitably leads me to binge 2 or 3 episodes.

I liked Enterprise. I would probably rate it second in my list of Star Trek shows, after TNG. And it got very good in the last season right before they canceled it. Plus it had a dog!

To be fair, though, I have never watched all of DS9 or Voyager. Both aired originally when I was in HS and college for the most part, and I didn't have time to keep up with them when I was living at home, and when I was away at school we didn't get anything but NBC OTA. But when I did catch them at home, they weren't super great for me, but it could also have been that I just wasn't up to date on storylines and missed a lot.

Porthos was great! Never got in trouble. Unlike, say... Wesley, Jake, Nog, Neelix, or Kes. Most stories centering on those cutie characters made me cringe.

I binge-watched Enterprise about a year or so ago. I had seen the first season or two during its initial run, then somehow lost track of it. It seemed pretty uneven to me, throughout, but as a full-on sucker for the Trek franchise*, I enjoyed it well enough.

*Although I haven't yet ponied up for CBSAA to watch Discover.

Your resistance has not been futile. ST-Discover seasons 1 & 2 are now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Prime Video. My discs are arriving today.

The Blu-rays are the same price as not subscribing for a year or so, and include behind-the-scenes bits, audio commentary, and probably other special features.

I don't have any way to play a physical disk, and I don't see it on Prime Video. But I'm not necessarily against signing up for CBSAA at some point to do a binge watch. I just haven't yet.

Season 1 is on Prime. Season 2 is only on disc for now.
S1 on Prime is $2.99/episode or $34.99/season in HD (less in SD).

Oh, I see. I thought you were meaning "Included with Prime," as they say.

I know, right? That's what we normally think of when we hear "Prime". They're constantly doing confusing things with the branding for their music and video services.

Also: look what just arrived at lunchtime. Too bad I've got some work to do first.

You can easily watch it using free months on CBS All Access. I "subscribe" about 5 months out of the year for free just because they offer promos so often and you can cancel and then just re-subscribe using a different promo. Usually during your first free month you click "Cancel" and it will offer you another free month, and then the next time 50% off 3 months (if you want 3 months for $15). Otherwise just cancel and in another month or so there'll be another code for a free month. The codes have been posted on the CBS All Access thread.

I prefer to enjoy a full-on binge with the discs, and the bonus features.

Back on topic, I enjoyed binging the 4th season of Enterprise on Netflix a while back. And I previously had gone in just to watch a few favorite 4th season episodes. I only went back to the last episode of the third season to remember what happened. I may have missed much of the third season on live TV the first time around, because it was getting to be all Xindi all the time.

I’ve been sick the past couple days, so I started “watching” Enterprise (I’ve had it on in the background, sometimes I watch, sometimes I listen, sometimes I don’t) just started the third season. Hadn’t watched it at all previously. I’ve been enjoying it.

I enjoyed it, esp. at the beginning when they were just exploring and discovering things (e.g. limited and primitive weapons, Minshara class planet, etc.)

Before Discovery existed, I'd say it was 3rd in my favorite of the Trek series after TOS and TNG. To me, it was better than Voyager and definitely better than DS9.

There were some really good eps every now and then (e.g. In a Mirror Darkly, parts 1 and 2). I liked some of the intentional references of stuff that came later (e.g. Romulans, Archer talking about a directive, mind melds, T'Pau, humans and Vulcans having a child together, etc.)

Is it just me, or does Enterprise get significantly damaged like ever other episode? They’re pretty good at field repairs.

I know I watched most of the first season. Not 100% sure I finished the first season. I know I liked the show initially, but lost interest as the season went on. I definitely did not watch anything after season 1.

Yeah. I recall that happening once they went down the path of trying to stop the Xindi planet-killer weapon.

Show was a bit uneven. I think the casting was bad overall - though Archer is fine and I liked the doctor.

I watched the whole thing back in the day, and probably rewatched it at least once since.

I would consider it the weakest of the Star Trek series. Star Trek without technology felt kinda uninteresting especially in the beginning though they did acquire more technological capability as the series progressed. "Polarize the hull plating" just doesn't sound adequate (at least later timeline Treks have magical shields to prevent the insta-destruction we know would occur to a military space craft). Scott Bakula, an actor that I otherwise really like, was a terrible casting choice for the series, played the whole thing too stiff. The rest of the supporting cast was fine, though with the usual Trek objectification of female characters (T'Pol wearing the tightest uniforms they could find, Hoshi losing her top during one episode, etc).

My favorite episodes were probably the two part alternate universe, the only time the cast got to be really badass.
