    El Paso...
About two years ago almost all TV channels in Mexico changed their virtual channel numbers to match those in Mexico City. This is not a bad idea actually as virtual channel numbers usually are just the old analog assignment in the US. It would be as if all CBS stations were 2-1, all NBCs on 4-1 and all ABCs on 7-1 as they are in New York and LA.
In my El Paso channel list, Tivo has reflected the change for most of the channels however they did not remove the old channel designations either. This simply makes the list very long and cumbersome to navigate. Of course, I have unchecked the old information but I would like to have Tivo clear out the list of this excess data but am unsure on how to approach the task. The on-line report is not really set up for this situation nor so many issues at once. There is no way I am going to try to explain this to some customer representative whom I can barely understand at best.
I would prefer to compile a list and send in a written paper letter. Does any member know of a pertinent address and company employee to deal with this matter?

really? a paper letter? If so, you can probably find a 'contact' address. I would try the lineup page and IF there is a comment section there maybe ask for a way to email a more detailed description.

I found a headquarters address in Santa Clara, CA. Yes, I am "old school", but I wrote them once before and actually got good results. I thought that address was in Los Angeles but it has been quite a while. Sometimes a paper letter stands out from the flood of emails and voice mails that companies or elected officials get.

I have nothing to contribute other than to say hello to a fellow El Pasoan! I've been gone 10 years, but I miss it greatly.

texasPI, I hope you have been back for a visit recently. El Paso has experienced more growth and improvements in the last 10 years than the previous 20. The difficulties we have experienced have also brought us together with pride in our city.
As for the matter at hand, I am mailing off a letter to the Santa Clara address simply labeled as RE: Channel line up issues. If it helps with the 29 useless entries in the channel list that would be great. If not, I have the list for my own information and it was something interesting to accomplish after spending over two months only going to Walmart at the senior citizen shopping hour and the occasional fast food drive through and eating in my car. I will report any results.
