Hi. I have an older 40 hour series 2 tivo. It just up and died on me today. It froze up and when I unplugged it to try and reboot it, I get a blank screen and the right light burns red with orange at the bottom. I did this with and without my wireless adaptor in the USB slot.

    I have a couple questions:

Is there any way to retrieve the programs and/or subscriptions I have if I get a new DVR? I'm on a mac and I have some external enclosures that I can pop the HD into.

Do all the series 2 models accept the netgear MA111 that's been working for me?

    Thanks!

The TiVo is apparently dead. You could try replacing the PSU. Otherwise, your recordings are lost, as there is no way to recover them when the originating TiVo is dead.

If you are subscribing with monthly or Prepay (other than Lifetime), you can buy a new TiVo and replace it on your account. Under certain circumstances, they can transfer Lifetime to a TiVo they will replace yours with.

All Series 2s should support that adapter.

Thanks. Would the lights on the front work if the PSU is dead?
