    Hi there,

Very long time TiVo owners here (since Series 1 on the "Cox Beta Test"). We currently have a Roamio six tuner downstairs and a Bolt upstairs.

I've been dealing with some channels that absolutely refuse to tune on the Roamio, but were fine on the Bolt. However, now I've lost Science Channel and others on both of them. The previous Cox tech who came out last year replaced the box and said "Well, Cox only supports four streams per CableCard" as an excuse for not being able to tune six channels at the same time, but naturally blamed TiVo for the issues with tuning.

I don't remember it being a problem before we moved two years ago. The SDV boxes were all kept with their matched TiVo when we moved. However, I think this last guy removed the "identifier" inline filter when he checked them since he claimed they weren't needed.

We did start using MoCA as a backbone between upstairs and downstairs (and to the Mini) via two Motorola boxes since this house is not wired with Ethernet, but I don't see how that would affect anything. The TiVos are plugged into either my upstairs switch or a switch connected directly to a MoCA adaptor.

So, what's the course of action to take with them now? I don't know if they're still rolling techs during COVID-19 or not. New SDV boxes?

    Thanks!

I'd check to make sure your Cable Card firmware is at a level that supports 6 tuners, it is possible it has been back levled by the cable company...

My CableCard Firmware is at PKEY_1.5.3_F.p.1101

All 6 tuners work with this firmware release.

    Thanks, Paul.

    They're both at firmware PKEY_1.5.3_F.P.1301

I'm going to request some brand new SDV boxes from Cox.

Pretty clear your problem is not CableCARD firmware version. I assume by “SDV box” you mean Tuning Adapter. TA’s have a software version also, which you can find in their diagnostic menu. I can’t tell you how to find it because I no longer have a TA. My bet is the problem is something not set correctly in the Cox system, rather than the firmware version of any of your equipment. Based on reading many war stories on this forum for more than a decade, plus my own experience with TiVo and a TA, the odds are around 100:1 that is the case. Complain about missing channels and get a truck run. If they can’t fix it, apply for a credit on your account.

Despite the fact that the Cox service tech said "I will have the tech bring two new CableCards and two new Tuning Adaptors", the guy did not. He spent an hour on the phone with various levels of Cox "upper level tech support" and the result was...

"You need to buy new TiVos to get all of the channels."

I told him that every single person he talked to was talking out of their ass because these are not Series 1 boxes and that everyone at Cox who believes that there is some magical hardware change in the TiVo Edge that will allow me to suddenly be able to tune channels 1102, 1103, and 1104 when the surrounding channels work just fine should instantly lose their jobs because they're incompetent at a very basic level.

Now, I have to go to a Cox Store to pickup new TAs because, according to the last phone rep last night, no trucks carry them.

    New CableCard installed
New Tuning Adaptor Installed, would not stop flashing eight green flashes (so provisioning would not complete), reinstalled old adaptor.

I think the channel maps are incorrect. Guess which ones of these channels will not tune! :)

    HD Channels
    Channel 1100 - QVC
    741000KHz

    Channel 1102 - Science Channel
    999000KHz

    Channel 1104 - Investigation Discovery
    633000KHz

    SD Channels
    Channel 100 - QVC
    741000KHz
    Channel 102 - Science Channel
    999000 KHz

Is this data stored in the CableCard or Tuning Adaptor? I assume the TA.
