Everyone saw this coming years ago. They borrowed huge amounts of money to overpay for old phone lines that nobody else wanted. I wish I had shorted Frontier stock several years ago like I had planned on doing. Oh well.

So when should Frontier customers get worried?

It's the stockholders and bondholders that should be worried.

No need for customers to worry yet, they'll file chapter 11 to keep operating. Eventually I'm sure the rest of their territories will sold off.

If you read what Frontier has been doing you know the customers should have been, and many were, worried starting long ago. We dropped our Frontier POTS service several years ago. At that time the cheapest service cost $28/mo and that didn’t include any long distance, call waiting or other features. We have Ooma that cost $5/mo (taxes) plus $10/mo for (optional) deluxe features. Have to say we never had any problems (other than cost) with their POTS and they didn’t cause any problems cancelling.

Well, those 3 shares plus $4 will get you a Starbucks cup of coffee.
