Costco.com shows the S3 for $599 and lists that a $200 rebate is available.

Note: I was inside a Costco store today.. and only saw the THD, not the S3.

I went through this on the S3 Fathers day Rebate. I bought my S3 from a local tv and audio store and wasn't sure if they would qualify so I called Tivo and they told me that "Authorized dealer" just means you didn't buy the S3 from a person. As long as you buy it from a store or online site you'll be fine. Just be sure to get a receipt showing the Costco name on it.

P.S. I got my rebate with no problem in under two months.

Amazon has a great deal right now too, but no 90 day guarantee.

Just to reiterate .. the point was that Costco was an unlimited return policy... its not just 90 days . Amazon doesn't even come close on that one :)

Costco adds a bunch of fees and taxes and shipping. If I buy the THD from Amazon, I save a bunch of cash, and by paying with AMEX I get a two year warranty for free.

I just bought another Series 3 from Circuit City.

The local stores did not have the units in stock.

So, I went online to circuitcity.com where the price was $599.99 w/free shipping.

I also had some 10% off coupons from circuit city. Upon online checkout, the 10% coupons were not honored. So, I call CC customer service and they honored the 10% off coupons on the discounted price on a phone order.

So , I was able to order a NEW Series 3 from Circuit City for $539.99 w/free shipping and I am still eligible (I beleive) for the $200 Tivo rebate.

After I receive the rebate in the 10-12 weeks, the Series 3 unit will have cost me $339.99.

Yes, I know the HD is still cheaper. But, My wife hates the looks of the HD unit.

She told me I could only buy another Series 3. Who am I to argue...
