I have no way to watch it. I don't have cable. I am hoping it come to Disney+.
I tried to look up season 2 since I don’t recall it ever being on and found that this is season 2. It was just delayed a year.
Correct. The series got put on hold following accusations of impropriety on the part of host Neil Degrasse Tyson, accusations later found to be unsupported. The show was probably further delayed due to the 20th Century sale to Disney.
If you have locals, I saw an article that said it would run on Fox this summer.
That's a good way to confuse people. I know I have Season 1 on Blu-Ray when it came out, and I didn't recall season 2 or getting the discs of it.
Ahh... I didn't even notice the title of the YouTube video. Yeah, that was an error.
So S1 was the one that ran on FOX like 4-5 years ago? Or has there been one between now and then?
Cosmos season 1 (subtitled "A Spacetime Odyssey") aired on FOX back in spring 2014.
Season 2 (subtitled "Possible Worlds") is airing presently on NatGeo, and supposedly at a yet to be determined date on FOX. It was originally supposed to have aired in spring 2019, but was put "in the can" until the investigation into the accusations against Neil Degrasse Tyson could be investigated.
That's all there's been.
I like Neil Degrasse Tyson a lot. I love it when he guests on other shows. I find his sing-songy narration style to be slightly annoying, though. It sort of reminds me of Avery Brooks' (DS9) dramatic narration style which I found to be quite annoying.
I believe they're counting the original Carl Sagan show as Season 1.
The visuals on this show are gorgeous, and well-served by our new 65". I just wish it were available in better than 720p.
P.S. Seeing Sagan appropriated for a Jeep ad is very upsetting.
Season 1: Cosmos: A Personal Voyage (1980)
Season 2: Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey (2014)
Season 3: Cosmos: Possible Worlds (2020)
V. annoying that the 2020 series still isn't available on-demand or streaming. I forgot to set my season pass and missed the first two eps, and can't find them anywhere. There haven't even been any reruns on the linear channel beyond the day they premiere.
I'm in the same boat. I've even tried looking for them via magic means and have been unsuccessful.
I see it on NZB indexers and at least one torrent site as, perhaps unexpectedly, "Cosmos Possible Worlds S01..."
I'm hoping it comes on Fox soon enough as I don't have cable TV and don't think it came to Disney+ last time I looked.
I would expect it to end up on Disney+, since that's where the previous season is.
Actually, I thought the previous season was on Disney+, but I can't find it. Apparently the previous season is only on Disney+ outside the US.
It must be tied up in licensing complications. NatGeo and Fox TV used to be under the same umbrella, but now NatGeo is Disney and Fox TV is not. Cosmos aired on both channels (at least the previous season... not sure about the latest), but I have no idea who owns it nor who owns the streaming rights.
Fox has this on their new fall schedule.
Not at last I can catch the 1st 2 episodes I missed.
