I have a Toshiba RS-TX20 and get the same error. From reading the posts the burner is shot & needs to be replaced.

Try to burn using another show on the "now playing" list. Also, try using a different brand of blank dvd. I have had the error at times. However, there was no need to make any hard drive replacement. Good luck.

Reboot the tivo. When you burn, don't have it doing anything else.

I agree with WML1950... I wouldn't be so quick to say that the burner is shot. I have a Humax with a burner. I will occasionally get this error. I seem to get it less frequently with good quality blank DVDs (Sony, TDK). I got it once when trying to burn a specific program. I could burn other saved programs, but not that one. I gave up and deleted that specific program. I rebooted the TiVo and have been burning fine since them.

Reboot the tivo or leave it unplugged for a while.

I agree with mrinfofinder. I have had this error often, particularly when I switch from one DVD-R brand to another. So far, the unplug for 5 minutes technique has solved the issue every time!
