I have an IPAD2 ordered and going on a trip. I want to take a bunch of my tivo shows to watch on it while on a plane. I have looked at various posts and trying to determine software to use to convert the tivo files to the h.264. I see most want to use kmmtg. Anyone use roxio or pavtube? Any other software out there that is good?

I tend to use avisynth and x264 so that I can use batch files. It sounds like you are looking for a simpler approach though. I would recommend looking at Handbrake. It is easy and does a good job. It should work well for Apple devices.

Handbrake works well for formatting video to the iPad. It doesn't recognize .tivo files directly, you'll want to convert them to a .mpeg file first.
