Same here. Worst part is, I'm trying to get to the bottom of the TDL so that I can see what programs are not going to record.

Never had a problem with audio dropouts, but with the move to 6.3b, I'm now experiencing occassional reboots while attempting to watch recorded shows, usually HD content. 6.3b sucks, IMO. Never had a problem like this before the move to 6.3b.

I have not audio dropouts anymore but have started getting random reboots and partial recordings.

Add me to fed up list also. And the funny thing is I used to be DTV's biggest supporter. Now I would not recommend them to an enemy.

'glad' to see i have company at last. While I realize missed recordings is more serious a problem ,this one still is pretty unacceptable.

No reboots or instability yet. I can page up/down in the ToDo list just fine.

I did hear faint audio static on my recording of CSI last night. I haven't watched much of it, so I don't know if its only at the beginning. Switching the TiVo's output to PCM didn't fix it.

Did anyone else have static on last night's CSI? I recorded it OTA.

LoopinFool, i recorded CSI last night OTA too, will watch tonight after my SO gets home. Will try to remember to post in the morning if there was any static in it

No probs here with 6.3b; menu navigation, season passes, no reboots, everything Ok. That is too strange that some boxes and software are fine, others aren't. Count myself lucky, because 6.3a gave me probs.

Ever since 6.3b, my coffee-maker stopped working and my dog keeps peeing on the carpet. It's all DirecTV's fault. I'm calling to get a credit.

No static on CSI (OTA HD) via the local CBS station in Seattle.

ROTFL. I've got 3 dogs, what a mess.

We're the lucky ones not to have probs; weird how identical boxes and software vary so much.

-Are my problems hardware or software?
-And, if software, do I have any reason to hope that DirecTV/Tivo are working on a fix?
-About the time ver 6 was released, DirecTV replaced my HD DVR (that I bought at Best Buy when they first came out) because of serious picture dropouts during HD recordings. The new box seemed to correct the problem except now, several times a month when I come home in the evening, I find the picture scrambled requiring me to unplug the box, wait 15 seconds, then plug it back in. (Is that what you guys are calling a "reboot"?) Afterwards the unit works OK until the next incident.
-I am also experiencing the 20 second sound dropouts others have been talking about on this forum.
-I checked and see I now have software version 6b. The sad thing is, I was quite happy with version 3 software!
    Advice is appreciated.

The signal strength was bouncing back and forth from the 60s all the way down to 0 every few seconds. I came up with a temporary solution. I pointed the antenna (Silver Sensor) directly opposite downtown Chicago. I now get a solid signal in the 50s for 9-1. Unfortunately, I can't get 5-1 or 32-1 this way (7-1 is still OK). I guess I can change my Season Passes to channels 82 and 88 for NBC and Fox.

Well, no spontaneous reboots for me, but I am getting my HR10-250 to lock up and be unresponsive with a blank, black screen about once every day or two. Kicking myself for upgrading from 3.1.5f, but I do love the faster menus.

Just had my 1st reboot. Everything had been great, audio drop-outs fixed, speed good, no short recordings......then while channel surfing - a freeze, then reboot.

I hope this is not the beginning of a downward spiral.....

I haven't had any of the problems with 6.3a that everyone has been complaining about except possibly the occasional audio drop out with OTA programs. They've been infrequent enough that I just attributed it to the digital broadcast. I've counted myself lucky.

Today, about 45 minutes ago, I experienced my first reboot while watching a recorded program from last week. When I was back up and running I checked my version number and low and behold I was running 6.3b.

I'll keep my fingers crossed it was an isolated fluke.

I upgraded from 3.1.5f to 6.3b by hand at the first of the year. I have no unusual reboots unless I am using special non-standard software.

I watch little OTA, so can't comment on audio dropouts there. On SAT programs, I get essentially none.

I have a variety of scheduled recordings, with no missed or short recordings. I clean out old recordings, so my drive is only about half full.

I was pleased with 3.1.5f, and 6,3b has been as good or better, with nice features.

I'm having big problems with 6.3b. Usually I have to power cycle 1-2 times a day. The symptom is I'm using the guide and select an OTA channel and the channel banner appears with a gray screen.

Last night I had a slight variation of the problem. Was watching a OTA HD recording from CBS and I'd set a recording for PBS on one of their subchannels. As the recording started it caused the playback to stutter constantly. Tried a power cycle and the problem continued. Disconnected the OTA antenna and everything came back to normal. Have over 90 on virtally all OTA channels.

    weird.
