I am so glad I disconnected my phone line before I got it and to think I was forcing calls.

Have had 6.3b for a couple of weeks now. Still get 1-2 sec audio dropouts with regularity (about 2-3 times during Prison Break and 2 times during "24") Interestingly, the worst it has been was while watching SD college B-ball on FS Arizona ch.649 where there were up to 15 minute audio dropouts sometimes happening every few minutes.

I feel a divorce coming  ....help DTV!

I have had 6.3b only for a few days now. Still have audio dropouts, not sure if it fixed reboots. i haven't seen a reboot in a few weeks even before "b". I watched Prison Break and 24 last night and had a couple of dropouts like epeters above. Maybe certain channels are prone, I'll have to notice better

I just watched my recording (from last night) of Prison Break (FOX OTA HD) and there was not a single dropout. This HD TiVo had its phone line unplugged for over 100 days, and then upgraded directly to 6.3b (i.e., never ran 6.3a). So far (several days) no reboots and no guide/SP/WL recording problems.

I am a lucky one who apparently went from stable 3.1 to stable 6.3b, at least so far.

I have another HD TiVo unit that went the "standard" upgrade route: the phone stayed plugged in; ran on 6.3a for weeks; had numerous (but not daily) reboots on 6.3a; long audio dropouts on FOX OTA. Once it upgraded to 6.3b, all problems ceased and it is as stable as before on 3.1.

So I can't figure out why mine behave nicely and others are still misbehaving. One of mine is on a UPS and the other isn't.

Also, I have a series 1 Sony SAT-T60 and a series 2 Hughes HDVR2. The Sony missed a few recordings during the bad guide data time frame. The Hughes never blinked, according to my wife, who uses it daily and monitors her recordings like a hawk to prevent filling the hard drive.

So, why do we see inconsistencies in all of these SD and HD DirecTiVo units? BTW, mine are all stock--no HD upgrades and no hacks.

I watch FOX on the satellite ( LA is still national feed = our local channel ) but have never noticed an audio dropout on the one OTA HD channel I watch - maybe that has something to do with it.

Still experiencing lock ups like crazy while watching recorded programs on 6.3b.

Came home to the "Welcome, Powering Up...." message yesterday.

Had to manually reboot 4 times trying to watch a one hour recording of Poker After Dark, recorded from the OTA HD NBC channel. If I am able to quickly hit the 30-second skip button when it freezes, I can get past the "stuck" point. If I don't hit it quick enough, it will freeze indefinitely until I manually reboot. Then, after the reboot, I go back to the same point in the recording and it hangs up again. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have any suggestions? Could it be a hard drive problem, completely unrelated to 6.3b? It's gotten to the point where I don't want to even watch the programs anymore because it's so irritating.

Hasn't fixed the audio or the re-boots. I get the audio issues that are shorter than before but still get the video distortion after.

No "big" problems here. Had one recent reboot (which I didn't see) and discovered since the 30 sec skip was disabled. It appears that when it happened the recorder was trying to record a 2 hour concert on HDNET. In the Now Showing list, there are two entries for that program, one from the beginning and the other showing the end. Some piece is missing in the middle.

Another strange thing I noticed once, only on HDNet, is that the 30 sec skip, for a while, was only a fraction of that... maybe even just 5 seconds or so. None of my other channels were affected.

I have seen zero problems on my other Tivo recorder, which is also on the b release.

6.3b is still giving me audio dropouts and now spontaneous reboots. Whoopee.

Are these folks trying to drive us away? A formerly great product now sucks. Maybe they're selling their stock short.

Well, after 4 reboots within a week on 3.1.5f, I finally decided to let my box phone home. I was also getting really tired of the slow menus.
Called in, normal-length call (after 4 months of not calling), reboot, reworking the database, 6.3b!
So far, so good (mostly). Here's what I've noticed so far:
    1. I had to adjust my antenna because our local OTA fox station (broadcast on VHF 11) showed no signal! Moved the antenna a bit and it bounced between 80, 20, and 0. Moved it more and now I have solid ~80, but I don't like how touchy it is. All the other channels seem fine, but I'll know better after some time with it.
    2. Our local NBC affiliate now has a TrueView weather channel on their -2 subchannel. I don't think it's broadcast at full (29.97) frame rate, and the TiVo doesn't like it. It plays something like "pause, play a bit double speed, pause, play a bit double speed, repeat". The audio drops out a lot, too. I'd call this an OTA bug, but one I don't much care about. FYI, my old Zenith ATSC tuner plays it just fine, and I'm pretty sure the older TiVo software did, too.
    3. I have a Denon 3802 receiver. I would sometimes get "buzzing" when switching from a Dolby Digital stream to a PCM stream. I would rarely get the "kill your speakers" static blast. With 6.3b (after re-enabling DD output), I seem to get the "buzzing" almost every time that switchover occurs. My receiver briefly indicates a 5.1 source even if it was a 2-channel source. I don't think it used to do that. I can live with the buzzing and I hope I never hear a loud blast again!

6.3b is a stinker for me. I had no reboot issues until 6.3b. Audio dropouts are still a HUGE issue. Plus that silly "Thumbs UP" button that keeps popping up on shows I am already recording.

I finally have both of my HR10's udpated to 6.3b and while I've not seen any of the reboot issues that have been reported I am having audio dropout issues.

I used to have them really bad on Fox & CBS OTA with 6.3a; now I'm having them on a whole range of OTA stations that didn't see the symptom with 6.3a. When they happen now they are much shorter, only one or two seconds unlike the 3-5 second ones I had before but they're still there and on more stations.

Ever since the upgrade to 6.3b, I am not able to receive WGN 9-1 (WB affiliate in Chicago). No problems with other stations on the unit. And I have no problems receiving 9-1 on my TV's built-in tuner, so it's not a problem with the station.

Also very annoying - pressing the up button once in Now Playing or any other menu causes the cursor to move up two rows. No way to move up one row at a time.

I haven't tried restarting yet to see if that clears either problem.

That's odd. No problem with 9-1 for me. I had a few issues on 5-1, 7-1, and 32-1 though. :(

But today I changed a setting on the amplifier that my antenna runs through, and my signal strength is bouncing less, so maybe that will help.

so I am alone out there with this problem?

my Todo list isnt all that navigable. Constantly bongs and reverts to previous page and doesnt let me 'do stuff' in it like go into some shows...without a lot of coaxing. For a heavy user like me, that's a serious problem. Not being able to go more than a few days out max without reverting to page one sucks
