My vote is that the forums be split by relevant product. Since the DTiVo and the CTiVo (Comcast TiVo) are different platforms with their own set of unique issues they should have unique forums. For the record, I refer to that particular company as Comcrap. It's an endearing term that reflects their never-ending search for new lows in customer service and quality of their product. You can have my DTiVos when you pry them from my cold, dead hand...or D* makes them doorstops...which ever happens first.
