Comcast is making me crazy

    2 weeks and comcast still can't get my cable cards set up. I have had a series 3 with 2 cable cards since 2006, working fine. Why the **** can't they figure it out now? Getting ready to call Verizon.

    Are you calling the Comcast Cable Card line? 877-405-2298

    TiVo has a Cable Card Hotline for setup issues:
    866-986-8486

    I have read that if you are unable to install a cable card or Comcast is having issues activating it, exchanging the cable card for a fresh one can help in some cases.

    • follow all the instructions on the install sheet (don't skip steps)
    • call the appropriate phone numbers (see post above)
    • if the card doesn't work, swap it for a new one
    • important: make sure the people at Comcast correctly enter the pairing information for the new card

    Once I got a card that wasn't DOA, and the pairing information was fixed, everything worked like magic. But getting to that point -- oy.
