I am thinking about getting digital cable. I know that in most stand alone tivo units passing the signal from the digital box to the tivo to the TV results in a big drop. Since the SD-H400 has component outputs (RdBlGr) will that allow for a better transfer to the TV and will it help with any HD channels I would recieve?

First of all, this is the wrong forum for that question. :)

However, that TiVo has component outputs because it is also a DVD player. The TiVo recordings should also look a little better using that output. Digital cable HD recorded on that TiVo will only be SD (480i), so will not be in HD. To watch HD you need to also connect the cable box directly to the TV.
