I am considering an conversion from two Comcast DVRs to two TIVO Premier XLs but I have a question. I understand you can share recordings between two TIVOs but some content is copy protected. What is not clear is which content can and can't you share.

Can anyone shed some light on this. My wife would like to watch some of her shows from either TIVO and I would like to know if that is not possible.

    Thanks in advance

Most of the comcast channels you should be able to transfer between the 2 tivos. The premium channels will be flagged and unable to transfer

Ok so things like Dr Phil, Oprah etc will be all good to transfer between the two units but HBO, Showtime etc probably not.

Anything on the networks (NBC, CBS, Fox, ABC) can not be protected. Most other channels are not with Comcast but it can vary. Along with Showtime, Encore, and the other movie channels, TLC is also protected where I am.
