I have a laptop and an S2 connected to my home network. I have the laptop set to "Sleep" when I close the top. But when I open it up again, the S2 cannot see the shows and music and pictures on the laptop. Is there something I can do, short of rebooting the laptop, that will allow me to get that connection again? I tried restarting TiVo Desktop, but that didn't help.

Try restarting Bonjour or TiVo Beacon, whichever one you have Desktop configured to use for a discovery protocol.

A batch file in your startup folder would probably automate it. It would look something like this...

    net stop "Bonjour Service"
    net start "Bonjour Service"

    or...

    net stop "TiVo Beacon Service"
    net start "TiVo Beacon Service"

I have the TiVo Beacon service disabled and I am running the Bonjour service. I created a .bat file that stops and starts the Bonjour service and I have tried manually executing it when I re-open the laptop. It doesn't seem to help. Thanks anyway, though.

    Anybody have any other suggestions?
