That's part of it but I think his influence on the new Star Trek shows is more pronounced.
    Which causes more problems.
I don't think he's done that good a job with Discovery and Picard.

But it's some of his other tv shows which I truly dislike, particularly the ones for CBS (which airs Clarice).
Scorpion and Hawaii Five-O were the most egregious offenders.
Salvation got pretty bad as well.

Limitless wasn't completely terrible and Sleepy Hollow was a lot of fun but I don't think he had much to do with the actual writing on those shows.
(I suspect that part of the problem is that he's no longer working with Roberto Orci.)

So yeah, I go into a Kurtzman production on the skeptical side.

I haven't seen any of those shows (aside from Clarice) that you mention, which could be why it doesn't trigger me. The stuff he has done in the movies has been fine (at least the stuff I've seen).

    Thanks for the clarification.

I actually liked them. I've seen the first 2. Are there more? I enjoyed them quite a bit. But I'm not a Trekker.

I seem to recall your husband having negative remarks about the Scorpion pilot.
(Which involved driving a Ferrari at 200 MPH down an airport runway so the commercial airliner flying juuussstttt above it could have the copilot stand on the landing gear and lower an ethernet cable to a laptop in the car to do a software transfer.)

Huh. No recollection. But then, that was HIM saying it, not me. Believe it or not, we don't always watch tv together.

I thought that you might have heard him ranting about it.

The Chris Pike movies? Wow, those were masterpieces compared to Discovery. Yes, they made Trek more action-y, but the various movies have been doing that for a long time. I still think they were pretty good Trek.
