Why is Channel Master offering the TiVo Edge to our customers?
Channel Master is committed to offering our customers a best of class TV antenna experience and while the Stream+ is an excellent DVR option for the $99 price, some of our customers have been asking for a DVR with more advanced features. In an effort to bring a more advanced DVR to market our team spent a lot of time evaluating competitor products and only one stood out for reliability. The TiVo Edge is by far the most feature-rich OTA DVR on the market, a perfect compliment to our industry leading antennas and accessories, so instead of building one we decided to partner with them. Channel Master has arranged a special offer for our loyal customers who are looking for an OTA DVR with more features than currently available on the Stream+. If you are looking for a best of class DVR for your antenna, you won’t want to miss this exclusive one-time offer.

Yeah I just got this email too. Channel Master went from offering a pretty compelling DVR product for it's time to selling an Android TV product that relies on Google's own Live Channels app, without ever bothering to get Netflix on it mind you, to now selling a TiVo product from their store. I love my Channel Master antennas but they are lost on the DVR product.

Is lifetime included or does Channel Master have their own guide?

Looks like you still need a Tivo subscription. They're apparently helping TiVo unload their hardware inventory.

Have wanted an Edge since it was announced but it seems like a product that Tivo is abandoning so I'm not sure it's smart to jump in.

I don't know if it's as much abandoning as not seeming to be working hard to support . . . .

Weird use of "exclusively", given that it's still for sale at TiVo.com, Amazon and Best Buy (at least). I guess they mean the sale price?

And it seems to be working, sold out at Tivo online, the OTA version. So $500 with lifetime, ok if you want an Edge (might be better to take the $7 a month or $70 a year subscription, would take 3-3.5 years to recover the lifetime payment.) Edge not for me at this time, TE4 only, 2.5" drive plus cannot upgrade the drive with an external without a custom cable, the internal connection to the drive is a one piece slide in, power and data. For those that use mostly just the DVR I still recommend the Roamio, 3.5" drives that can be swapped around without losing everything, TE3 and TE4 availability, and cheap, probably $150-250 max with lifetime. For app users I cannot say.

Now, if they only sold TiVO Roamios . . .

Series 7 should have been return to Roamios. :).
