Midseason shows include CSI: Cyber, which will take over CSI's Sunday time slot "sometime this spring", and oh dear God don't tell me they're making yet still even another version of The Odd Couple...with Matthew Perry as Oscar this time. What's the over/under on (a) how many of the first season's scripts will be rehashes of the original series (for example, Felix inadvertently gets Oscar audited by the IRS; Oscar has serious money bet on a game of pool), and (b) how many episodes actually air before CBS pulls the plug?

From the linked article:

The returning series to be launched later in the season are three established hits: the comedy MIKE & MOLLY, starring Academy Award nominee Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell; the drama THE MENTALIST, starring Simon Baker; and the two-time Emmy Award-winning reality series UNDERCOVER BOSS.

The most surprising thing to me in that sentence is that Undercover Boss won an Emmy.

Outstanding (Non-competition) Reality Series. Last year it beat out Antiques Roadshow, Deadliest Catch, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, MythBusters and Shark Tank.
wow
first: surprised it beat Deadliest Catch, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives and MythBusters
second: Diners Drive-Ins and Dives is a reality show ?

Kitchen Nightmares is more a reality show than DDD
and has more "emotional drama / family reconciliation" too

As opposed to what? It's only "sort of" scripted.

In fact, there will now be three reality show categories for Emmys - competition, "structured" non-competition (like D3, which is a mix of scripted and unscripted), and "unstructured" non-competition ("point the camera and see what happens").

Until I saw this, I didn't realize that CSI: Cyber is just filling in the CSI spot midseason when CSI would have been in reruns. I think that's a pretty good idea since the two won't actually be on at the same time.

And also interesting that they're moving it to Sunday, so looks like that one will be getting my extra hour padding that I can take off my Amazing Race season pass.

Most surprising: "How I Met Your Dad" is not moving forward at CBS. The network thought the pilot they shot needed work and wanted them to shoot a new one, but the producers declined.

I think that no one is particularly heartbroken, just surprised.
No way is that the whole story. My bet is the show would be on the schedule in its current form had there not been such a backlash. The rumor du jour is that Greta Gerwig didn't test well (no surprise there) and CBS got even more spooked.

Supposedly, CBS, which owns the show, is shopping it to other networks.
That's actually 20th Century Fox.

As Neenahboy said, the show is owned by 20th. In fact, there were lots of reports last week that the pickup had been delayed because CBS was trying to get 20th to give CBS an ownership stake in the show.

According to Nina Tassler this morning, 20th is free to start shopping HIMYD to other networks starting tomorrow.

"finally"? If you don't like it, don't watch it. I think it's still very funny.
We enjoy it and watch each week out of habit, but honestly it's getting a little long in the tooth and has devolved into the lowest common denominator sex related humor to get most laughs.

Again, I don't mind, but it smells of desperation more than anything and it just feels like it's the right time to wrap things up, they pretty much have milked this one long enough.

I think you should go back and watch some of the early season episodes. It's always been about the lowest-common denominator sex-related humor.

Although I don't watch any NCIS, I'm ticked they didn't do NCIS Wilmington.
I think they managed to get Gibbs down to Lejune to interview some people about a year ago, and I think they had a show a few years back with a chopper down that started out from the New River Air Station, but that's all I've noticed for NC action.

At least Sleepy Hollow is giving the city some screen time, even if it has to pretend to be a city up north.

Did you ever see the finale of "Surface" where they climbed the tower of that old red brick church downtown to avoid a storm surge during a hurricane as Wilmington played itself?

Yep, for seeing local stuff, Surface was fun to watch. As was the first season of Revolution. Sleepy Hollow, too.
