Just wondering if TiVo will ever add CBS All Access to their menu...

I wasn't really excited when Star Trek: Discovery came out a few years ago, but I am very excited about the new Picard series.

I guess I am going to have to watch it via another platform....

PS: How is it decided that Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. get added, while other apps obviously don't make the cut?

    Ask CBS.

And because the TiVo platform made the cut, at least the first cut, for the services mentioned.

(The services develop the apps, not TiVo. Though app development is greatly affected by TiVo’s choice of development platform.)

I imagine eventually it'll "make the cut". It's getting too big not to. Also, whatispunctuation.com will help you with those "there" problems. I used to make the same mistake with 'you're'.

Or via its Amazon Prime Channel: CBS All Access

I thought Discovery turned out to be a pretty decent show.

Maybe not as good as Expanse, though...

it was OK. Too much of the LGBTLSMFT stuff for me, but I did watch the full first season. I preferred TNG and DS9, The special effects were good. I also felt the tardigrade storyline (though very cool) kind of killed the previous storylines of of the series.

Season 2 was good, but you're right. Plenty of unnecessary 'alternate' preferences highlighted. It DID NOT make the show better by being included and probably made it worse. Cringing to see what Amazon does with Expanse...

Long long Trek fan. I thought Discovery was really good. Jason Isaacs as Captain Lorca was great as was Anson Mount. I'm looking forward to seas3. Of course, Picard will be outstanding; Patrick Stewart would not allow anything less.

Thanks for catching my "There" vs. "Their" mistake. I am actually one of those guys who welcomes being grammatically corrected!

Still hoping TiVo adds CBS All Access to the apps by "Early 2020" as the Picard trailer says....

CBS all access can be had along with Hulu or prime. One of them.

Not sure what you mean...I have both and couldn't find CBS All Access or Star Trek: Discovery.

Are you saying it is somewhere within those 2 apps on my TiVo?

Speaking only to Amazon Prime, you can add CBS All Access as an "Amazon Channel," which will then make the content available through the Amazon video app on your TiVo (BOLT, Roamio, Minis ... and maybe Premieres; not sure about depth of support for Amazon app on TiVos).

... as mentioned back in post #4:

p.s. In regards to doing the same with Hulu, I'm just not sure that the Hulu Add-Ons are available via the "Classic Hulu" app, which TiVo boxes are relegated to run (per), or if Add-Ons are only available through the latest Hulu app. I haven't yet found mention of CBS All Access for Hulu, but if it's anything like the HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and STARZ add-ons, the content won't be available via the Classic Hulu app to TiVo users. (see here)
