Cast to TiVo no longer available?

My Roamio and mini used to appear in the cast-to device list from the YouTube app on my iPhone. Now, only my Roku appears. Did a TiVo update break this functionality, or a YouTube app update on my phone break it? In any case, will it be back? (Or am I the only one having this issue?)

Sometimes it shows for me, sometimes it doesn't. Are you opening the app from a link or searching from the app for a video?

I also noticed my cast button missing. I'm able to connect with the "link to TV" option, but I can't choose my Roamio or Mini.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with the new Tivo Bridge I just added to replace my old moca adapter.

Anyone else know what could be causing this?

The Tivo option disappeared a while back for me too. I cast regularly with my macbook and chrome browser and always had the tivo or chromecast option. Seems like there was something clunky with the tivo connection and I never used it anyways.

My Roamio no longer shows, but the bolt does. If I launch the youtube app on Roamio first, it shows then. That's how it worked when I first got the Roamio, but then it was able to autolaunch the youtube app like you would expect.

As implied, I believe you have to sign in / activate the YouTube option on your TiVo before it appears as a 'Cast option.

No it's been disabled as far as I can tell, I've been signed into YT for years on my Tivo but it's no longer a cast option from either my Nexus 6 w/Android 7.1.1 (in any app including YT or from the cast screen option) or Chrome on my laptop. Used to work until sometime last year on my Roamio.

What's weirder is that 2 out of my 3 Minis show as cast options from my phone, but not from Chrome. Doesn't work but have no idea why only 2 of the Minis are advertising it.

Roamio Basic here and an ancient Android phone (4.1.2).

I can still cast to the Roamio from the YouTube app. Sometimes the function goes away, but rebooting both devices usually restores the feature.

I do find it useful -- it's a lot quicker to enter a search via my phone's keyboard than it is to use the TiVo remote, plus I can easily and quickly queue up a lot of videos from my Watch Later list via the phone's YouTube app.

It’s not there for me on my Roamio Pro. I tried rebooting the TiVo box and my iPhone, but it didn’t help. It worked fine before I upgraded the software on the TiVo box.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For the first time in a long time I can cast to BOTH of my Roamio OTAs. I do not have the upgrade which is all ****** up

Both of my TiVo roamios used to work and then for a long time only one of them and now the other day they are both now missing from the YouTube app. :(

I know this is an old thread but what I've found is that the chrome browser 'cast' feature doesn't show my tivo devices, however; on my android phone going to youtube and pulling up the casting screen shows both of them. I have this exact same experience at a friends house, chrome browser doesn't show any Tivo devices, but casting from android or iphone does.

Perhaps Google doesn't have the chrome browser up to date?

I was watching something on YouTube via Chrome on my desktop last night and I saw the option to cast to either TiVo (not sure what Chrome version I have installed but its the most recent).

    Me too, just now.

I chose the Roku, for well known reasons however...

Yea Youtube works which is why I don't understand what's the problem with chrome itself. Try this, go to youtube in chrome, then click the cast button inside the youtube video box. In this case I see the devices listed.

Now just open another tab and go to some other web site. Then click chrome settings->Cast. No devices found. My goal was to just mirror my browser on the TV (through tivo chromecast, or even samsung built-in capability, neither of which show up).

I don’t think you can cast just from Chrome, only YouTube specifically, this is a limitation of TiVo. Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong.
